User Experience, LLC. (http://www.usability.cn), headquartered in Beijing, China is a joint venture between two leading American and German usability consultancies, with advisory support from leaders in the Chinese human factors community. User Experience is at the forefront of user research to meet the exploding demand for user experience research in China.We provide full range user research services in our state-of-the art user research facility in the heart of the Beijing business district. Our fast growing business creates an opportunity for the leadership role as a Research Director.
What you will be responsible for?
Directing and managing all aspects of projects that include the designing, planning, implementing, and reporting usability testing and user research.
Responsible for all of the interactions with the client at a high level, which includes working closely with clients to scope the work, write the proposal, present the proposal, close the sale, and manage the project.
Providing visionary leadership in promoting our consulting service to the expanding China market, raising the awareness of user experience and usability in China’s product organizations, facilitating standardization in usability practice in China’s effort of building a human-centered society
What we are looking for?
Essential
Embracing the philosophy of user-centered design and be passionate about making technology and product easy to use and more usable.
Must have high proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
Advanced degree (PhD preferred, MS/MA required) in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factor Engineering, Experimental Psychology, behavioral science related fields.
Demonstrated experience conducting usability studies; solid command of a range of research design skills in experimental design and observational methods; ability to communicate research results and drive product improvements,
Must be able to interface effectively with clients, vendors and strategic partners in China, North America and Europe.
Minimum 3 years of related work experience working as a usability consultant or as an internal consultant for product organizations, post bachelor degree.
Preferred
Years of experience living and working in North America or Europe
Knowledge and understanding of current usability practice in China including product organizations’ challenge and barriers in implementing and integrating usability into their product development process
